Ekiti to begin 2nd round of polio vaccination April 9

The Ekiti State Government has said it would commence the second round of the Polio Outbreak Response Vaccination on Saturday, April 9.

The Chairman of the Ekiti State Primary Health Care Development Agency (PHCDA), Mrs Monisola Oloro, told newsmen that the vaccination would run from April 9 to April 12.

She urged mothers to make their children, 0 to five years old, available for the four-day exercise, which is aimed at protecting children from getting polio disease with its resulting irreversible paralysis.

Oloro said that the state government would, as usual, adopt the house-to-house campaign, visiting markets, religious centres, schools and farmsteads to administer the vaccine during the period.

She assured that provision of quality health care delivery remained to priority of the Gov. Kayode Fayemi led administration in the state.

Oloro said that the state government would leave no stone unturned to ensure that the people have unfettered access to quality health service in the State.

She urged residents of the state to continue supporting the efforts of government at making their lives more meaningful and healthier.
